DEMONSTRATION:
Dr. Gene Gross -Project enhancement, decoration, woodburning to hide flaws/splits.
A vasewith length wise, along vertical grain was a great example. Split was the trunk of a cine; burned branches turned a flaw into an attractve asset.
Dr. Gene Gross is a good speaker and handed out safety tips and turning tips as he went along with his central project. He also explained Wood Burning/Decoration rather fully considering the time he had. We have had excellent demonstrators followed by excellent demos.

THE PRESIDENT'S TURN
It is great to see the quality and quantityof the "Show and Tell" items. It reflects the talent that we have in our club. Keep up the good work!!
It was suggested at the last Executive Committee meeting that Brevard Woodturners be included as a particular club. What this will mean is that one more member will be needed to represent Brevard Woodturners on the committee. I will discuss that at the next meeting.
I have been thinking (alwasy dangerous) about ways to improve the financial when we get the EOG grant from AAW, but it would be nice to have money in the bank to have a well known turner come to the club for example. What do you think about a raffle to be held quarterly that members would contribute a piece of their work to be raffled off? Tickets would be cheap. $1.00 each of 6/$5.00. It would be an easy way to raise money for the club and a way to inspire members to turn a piece for the raffle. We can discuss this at the meeting also.
